SPRING VOLLEYBALL INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE
- STARTS THURSDAY, MARCH 22
- 9-WEEK SESSION
- GRADES 3 – 8
- THURSDAYS 4:30 – 5:45 PM
Our Instructional Volleyball League is designed for beginning and intermediate players (not for ‘travel team’ players). No experience is necessary. [Note: Players are split by skill and age after the first evening of each session.]
Instruction is provided by experienced, local volleyball instructors. Leagues cover both individual and team skills. All basic lacrosse skills are covered (as time and age allows) with the exception of goal keeping. This camp emphasizes individual volleyball skills but also incorporates some elements of team play and game strategy. Session time includes both instruction through drills and controlled scrimmages (once the players are at a level where a scrimmage is an effective learning tool).
The focus is on LEARNING and on HAVING FUN!
This program will be led by our veteran Youth Volleyball Coach Kristen Rubenthaler who played collegiate volleyball at Hastings College in Nebraska. Coach Rubenthaler has led many of our Volleyball camps including most recently the Summer 2017 Volleyball Camp.
No equipment is required although many players like to wear knee pads. These can be purchased in any sporting goods store or department store in the area.
