15th Annual FC Foxes Summer Baseball Camps at The Edge
The Fort Collins Foxes are active college baseball players from around the nation. They come to Fort Collins in the summer to play in a wooden bat league. Their home field is City Park Diamond and their season runs from early June to late July. The coaching staff and the players will be instructing these highly successful camps again this Summer!
Camp I: June 8 – 12 (Monday – Friday)
Camp II: July 13 – 17 (Monday – Friday)
Choose from four different camp levels to fit your player's age and skill level:
Tee-Ball and Advanced Tee-Ball Camp
This camp is a great way to get your 4-year-old (soon to be 5) or your 5-year old child started in baseball. No previous experience is necessary. Camp covers basic baseball skills including throwing and catching the ball, fielding grounders and fly balls, playing your position and running the bases. Camp is appropriate for new and returning Tee-ball players as well for players making the transition to “Coach Pitch” baseball.
- Ages 4 – 5 (must turn 5 by 9/15/2020)
- 11:15 am – 12:30 pm each day (1.75 hours per day)
Beginning Baseball Camp
This camp is targeted for players who have little to no experience playing baseball. All basic offensive and defensive skills will be taught including throwing, catching, fielding grounders and fly balls, hitting, basic base running and position skills. Basic Pitcher and Catcher instruction is also provided for those players that are interested.
- Grades K – 6
- 11:15 am – 12:30 pm each day (1.25 hours per day)
Returning Recreational Player Baseball Camp
This camp is targeted for players who have played at least one season of baseball at the Recreational Level. All basic offensive and defensive skills will be taught including throwing, catching, fielding grounders and fly balls, hitting, basic base running and position skills. Pitcher and Catcher instruction is also provided for those players that are interested.
- Grades K – 8
- 12:45 – 2:15 pm each day (1.5 hours per day)
Advanced Baseball Camps for Intermediate and Competitive/Travel Team players.
This camp is targeted for both Competitive/Travel Team and FCBC Intermediate League players as well as for players who will be trying out for teams at those levels of play. Players in these camps must be willing and eager to work hard to improve their overall baseball skills. Topics covered include fielding, playing your position, hitting mechanics, bunting, complete baserunning skills, team defense and game situations. Pitcher and Catcher instruction is also provided for those players that are interested.
- Ages 8 – 14
- 8 – 11 am each day (3 hours per day)
2020 FC Foxes Head Coach Alex King returns to lead these camps!
Coach Alex King is in his third year as Head Coach of the Fort Collins Foxes. Coach King played his final two years of college baseball at Fort Hays State University in Kansas. Prior to that he played at Barton Community College, also in Kansas. Following his playing career, he spent three years as an assistant coach at that school. In the summer of 2014, Coach King was the MWP of the Windsor Beavers Summer Collegiate Baseball team.
